AURORA is an actual album released for the Prime Video television series Daisy Jones & The Six. It is based on the fictional album of the same name, and the album is released as though it's by the fictional band Daisy Jones & The Six. It has 11 tracks, and all songs are performed by the band in the television series.

On March 3, 2023, AURORA was released on CD, vinyl, and digital.

After its digital release on March 2, 2023, Daisy Jones & The Six became the first fictional band to top the iTunes charts with the release of "Aurora".^[1]

Background[]

On January 25, 2023, the album was announced with the surprise release of the record's lead single. As part of the series and the then upcoming project on the way, Taylor Jenkins Reid expressed her feeling about making her creation real.

“We finally have Aurora. A stunning, nostalgic, timeless album that captures the drama, pathos, and yearning of the band’s zenith and nadir all in one. A snapshot of time, intoxicating and dangerous. That delicious moment that you know can’t last… Daisy Jones and The Six are real. And they are better than my wildest dreams.”

Singles[]

On January 25, 2023, "Regret Me" was released as the first single for the album.
On February 15, 2023, "Look at Us Now (Honeycomb)" was released as the sophomore single for the album, along with its single version.

On January 31st:
- AURORA was the #1 selling vinyl at Barnes & Noble.
- Apple Music featured Regret Me on their 'New Music Daily' playlist.
On February 4th, Regret Me reached 1 million streams on Spotify.
On March 2nd, 'AURORA' reached #1 on US iTunes.^[20]

March 13th, Billboard released their top charting albums. AURORA was featured seven times on the charts, one week after it's release.^[22]

- Regret Me and Look At Us Now (Honeycomb) were featured on Spotify's Grade A playlist.
Maren Morris and Marcus Mumford, the latter of whom co-wrote Honeycomb, recorded the song in a duet intended as their rendition of its creation.^[26]
