The collaboration between Daisy Jones and rising rock band The Six was orchestrated by Ellemarre Records producer Teddy Price in 1975. The Six, comprised of lead singer Billy Dunne, drummer Warren Rojas, bassist Eddie Roundtree, guitarist Graham Dunne, and keyboardist Karen Sirko, were fresh off a canceled tour, while Daisy Jones was a nobody in the music industry. He wanted her voice on The Six's leader singer Billy Dunne's newest song Honeycomb, and after a tumultuous recording session, the song was renamed and released as Look at Us Now. The success of Look at Us Now launched The Six back into the music scene, and brough Daisy out of obscurity. They were hottest rising band in the country and were asked to perform at Diamond Head in O'ahu Hawaii, which was the first time the collaborative artists, marketed as The Six featuring Daisy Jones, performed live together. In an after show interview, Billy declined rumors that Daisy would be featured on more of their songs or be a member of the band. This quickly changed later in the year, and Daisy was made an official member of the band, which retitled to Daisy Jones & The Six.

The new band began crafting their next record with Daisy and Billy writing while Warren, Eddie, Graham, and Karen spent their days laying the tracks for the songs. Meanwhile, Look at Us Now became the number one song in the country and became a framed record for Sound City. It wasn't long until Daisy and Billy had their first studio album completed and titled Aurora. The album was released and received well by both critics and fans alike

Aurora was featured on the cover of Rolling Stones magazine. An article about the band was included and written by Jonah Berg. The interview became famous for highlighting the scalding tension between Daisy and Billy, Hollywood's newest obsession. Everything thought they were dating or in love, with their chemistry fueling interest in their songs. Billy was quoted for calling Daisy a "head case", "drug addict", and that "talent like Daisy's is wasted on someone like Daisy." When the band reunited to start the Aurora Tour, Daisy shocked her bandmates and the world by reappearing from Greece married to an aristocrat.
