Plot summary[]

TV series plot[]

Billy Dunne and Daisy Jones spend days working together on a new album, growing closer as they do. Billy's wife Camila Alvarez wakes up in the middle of the night and finds Billy talking to Daisy on the phone. She sees a notebook of lyrics and picks it up, reading the lines, "please I have a family, it's an awful disease" and realizes the intensity of the lines. She asks Billy about the song when he comes to bed, and he claims Daisy wrote that one. A few weeks later during the Aurora cover shoot, Please plays over the speakers. Camila brings up the song to Daisy, noting its intensity and that she recognizes the lyrics. Daisy nods as Billy was on something that day when he wrote it. Camila thought Daisy wrote it, as that's what Billy told her, but Daisy isn't sure why he would have said that.[1]

Lyrics from the Book version[]

Please me
Please release me
Touch me and taste me
Trust me and take me

Say the things left unsaid
It’s not all in my head
Tell me the truth, tell me you think about me
Or, baby, you can forget about me

Please me
Please release me
Relieve me and believe me
Maybe you can redeem me

Say the things left unsaid
It’s not all in my head
Tell me the truth, tell me you think about me
Or, baby, you can forget about me

I know that you want me
Know that you wanna hold me
Know that you wanna show me
Know that you wanna know me

Well do something and do it quick
Not much more I can stand of this

Say the things left unsaid
Don’t act like it’s all in my head
Tell me the truth, tell me if you think about me
Or, baby, can you forget about me?

Please, please, don’t forget about me
Please, please, don’t forget about me

Lyrics from the Series version[]

Please, I’m down on my knees
I have a family
Please, it’s an awful disease
And it’s gettin’ me
Merged with a terrible urge every night
Please, if it’s only a single bite

I’m in the terrible trees at the edge of it
Please, man, I’m down on my knees like a Jesuit
And I need what I can’t unsee to disappear
Ah, c’mon, man, I know what I’m doin’ here

Please, I’m the worst at these
I need you to say no, please

“Please,” said thе manager, please
For thе other guests
Let me take it onto myself
As a little test
Oh, at least, meet me under the table for a kiss
Oh, and please, know I’m better than all of this

Please, would you throw me a breeze for a little spot?
For here in the Valley of Death is a little hot
Please, see I’m beggin’ and thanks in advance
Oh, please, never give me a second chance

Please, I’m the worst at these
I need you to say no, please
