Premise[]

As her relationship with Bernie deepens, Simone struggles to come to terms with her identity while finding her voice in the nascent disco scene of New York City. A telegram from Daisy suggests she’s in trouble and Simone drops everything to rescue her. What she finds isn’t exactly what she expected.

- Several things in the book were changed for the TV series during this episode.
- In the book, Daisy and Niccy get married in an intimate ceremony in Italy after meeting in Thailand. In the series, they're married in one of his homes in Greece and are surrounded by his friends.
- In the book, Daisy is open about the fact she's in a band and is famous. She always intends to go back to the band after the break. In the series, the emotional turmoil she goes through with Billy prompts her to give up on her stardom and she hides her success from Nicky.
- In the book, Niccy pretends to be rich but ends up draining Daisy's back accounts. This isn't a plot in the TV series.
- In the book, Simone is meant to meet up with Daisy in Thailand during her touring hiatus. She learns her friend isn't there and proceeds to fly around the world to find her, ultimately getting a telegram that she's in Italy. In the TV series, the telegram comes across as urgent, prompting Simone and Bernie to fly to Greece to "save" Daisy.
- Bernie and Simone are not in a relationship in the book. Simone is depicted as being a straight woman with no real love interest, which is changed to the TV series where she's a lesbian in love with Bernie.
- In the series, Daisy says she doesn't regret the wedding, but in the book, Daisy says she doesn't regret the wedding dress.
